Leonard Nimoy wants to be in Star Wars Episode 7.

The veteran actor told Screencrush that he thinks it would be fun to do a Star Wars film. He stated, "Oooh. Ooooh, wouldn't that be fun. I would love to. I think it would work wonderfully. I think it would work just great. I think it would be a great idea, and somebody ought to tell him that."

During the interview the actor had a chance to speak about his iconic role Spock. He revealed that he was not sure whether he was done playing Spock or if he would continue doing cameos in the upcoming Star Trek films. He said, "Wow... That's impossible to answer. I don't know. I don't know what J.J. is going to do. I consider him a very good friend. I think he's done a great thing for Star Trek. I'm very grateful to him. We all owe him a lot. When someone comes along like he has done and picks it up and elevates it, we should be grateful. So when J.J. calls me, I take the call."

Nimoy is best known for playing Spock in the original "Star Trek" TV shows and films. He recently voiced multiple characters in "Transformers," "The Simpsons," and "Kingdom Hearts." He was last seen in "Star Trek Into Darkness."

Casting for "Star Wars Episode 7" has yet to be announced but Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford are rumored to star in the film. Additionally, various actors including Daniel Radcliffe, John Noble, and John Rhys Meyers have expressed interest in the film.

Abrams' frequent editing team of Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey are already confirmed for the space opera while Darren Gilford is also credited as the production designer. Costume designer Michael Kaplan will create the wardrobe.

"Star Wars Episode 7" is slated to begin shooting in the UK in 2014 with J.J Abrams directing, Kathleen Kennedy producing and Michael Arndt writing the script.
