Ubisoft released their latest earnings report today, and the company continued to be successful on the back of several blockbuster franchises such as Assassin's Creed and Far Cry. But Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, who gave prepared statements during the presentation, believes that the next generation of consoles will provide an even greater experience than the current generation is able to offer.

"A new console cycle is beginning and it will offer players an unrivalled experience...They will see a major leap in quality with an extraordinary level of immersion as well as the incorporation of all of the innovations developed in recent years in online and social games, giving players the opportunity to create their own experiences and share them within their communities."

Guillemot may be referring to several new features on both the PlayStation 4 and next-gen Xbox, which has yet to be revealed. The PlayStation 4 will have the Share button, which will allow users to share with people on their friends list video and screenshots of their video game experience. The next-gen Xbox is rumored to use the new Kinect in a similar capacity, along with the possibility of using Skype to communicate. Both Sony and Microsoft seem intent on connecting gamers further, while delivering amazing hardware updates in the new consoles.

Ubisoft's financial report also gave several details into the success of the publisher. Assassin's Creed 3 managed to break sales records with 12.5 million units shipped and sold digitally. Meanwhile, digital sales overall for the company rose an amazing 86% from last year, earning the company $190 million dollars in the process. And the company is expected to generate even more money once several core franchise titles become available later in the year. Ubisoft has Assassin's Creed 4, Watch Dogs, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist awaiting release, along with two unnamed games that has yet to be announced.
