iPhone 5 rumors seem to be popping up all over the internet as industry insiders and analysts are looking carefully at Apple's moves to determine what the new device will be. Here's a look at some of the key rumors about the device that FoxConn CEO said "would put Samsung's Galaxy S3 to shame."

Release Date

Analysts are pretty certain that despite no official announcement from Apple, the iPhone 5 will come out this fall. Some had the date pegged as early as August claiming Apple is afraid that the Samsung Galaxy S3 might have too much time to gain steam and cut into sales. However, it is most likely that Apple will push for a September or October release date. There are even some reports as to battery shortages, meaning it might take a little longer to get supplies up.

Screen Size

The new iPhone should also come out with a larger screen of around 4 inches. This would put it on par with more Android smartphones and larger than the current iPhone 4s's 3.5 inch screen.

Operating System

This one is a no-brainer. Apple's new iPhone should come with their brand new iOS 6 which is slated for a fall release.

Processor

The new iPhone should have a quad-core processor which should improve battery life and performance.

New Smaller Port

Confirmed by manufacturers and accessory suppliers, the new iPhone 5 should come with a smaller 19-pin dock instead of the current 30-pin standard. This would render all iPhone accessories virtually useless, forcing users to buy new stereos, cables, and other items. The move to a smaller port size indicates that Apple is concerned with space and might be trying to fit more technology in.

NFC Chip

One of those new technologies Apple might finally be adding to the phone is an NFC chip. This would allow sharing of data simply by tapping, and an app in the new iOS 6 points that the phone will be able to help make payments as well.

Interchangeable Camera Lenses

An patent found to have been filed by Apple shows the company interested in creating a device which can have different camera lenses and filters fitted onto the back. A more powerful camera is also likely, meaning photo enthusiasts and instagram addicts will be able to do much more.
