Justin Bieber is receiving international praise from the Muslim community for his acknowledgement of the Azan during his concert in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday.

The 19-year-old Canadian singer stopped his show twice to honor the Azan, the Islamic call to prayer that occurs in the main mosque five times a day. It also goes by a few other names like the Adhan.

"I'm not a Justin Bieber fan but as a Muslim, I got a lot of respect for him cos of what he did," one Twitter user declared after E! Online shared the story.

The commendable gesture is just what the "Beauty and A Beat" singer needed after drawing global criticism for making an inappropriate remark about Jewish hero Anne Frank. He compared her to one of his fans in a comment at the visitor's book at the Anne Frank house.

In other Bieber news, the teen heartthrob recently posted a photo of him and the 20-year-old former Disney star on his Instagram page. In the pic, a shirtless Bieber is seen using his laptop while Gomez is affectionately holding him from behind. The caption reads: "'You've been makin music for too long babe come cuddle' -her." The person holding the camera has not been identified.

Last weekend, the "Boyfriend" singer also posted a cute photo of him and Selena getting cozy on Instagram, which he later deleted.

In April, the young couple was spotted canoodling in Oslo, Norway. However, the "Spring Breakers" star reminded fans in an April 24 interview on Z100′s Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, "I'm in my twenties. I wanna have fun. I wanna enjoy my life and not have to worry about every single thing."
