Just a few weeks remain before the season eight premiere of Showtime's hit drama 'Dexter.' The premiere will signify the beginning of the end for the Dark Passenger, as it will be the final season of the show.
Details of the exciting last season have slowly trickled in with Showtime recently releasing a teaser showcasing Dexter (Michael C. Hall) most unforgettable kills throughout the last seven seasons. "It's like I'm conducting a final symphony: Requiem for Demonic Dexter," Dexter says as images of his past deeds are played out.
The minute-long video concludes with the highly charged scenes of the season seven finale, when Dexter's sister Deborah Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) discovers his secret.
In another sneak peak released by Showtime, fans see just how tense Dexter and Deborah's relationship has gotten. The two-minute long video shows the two angrily speaking to each other as Dexter implores Deborah to answer his messages. The tension between the siblings is tangible and likely to be a key focus of the upcoming season.
The new season, which premieres on June 30, will see the return of some familiar faces, including guest star Yvonne Strahovski, who will reprise her role as Hannah McKay. Fans may remember Strahovski's character as Dexter's former love interest who has a score to settle with Dexter and his sister. Whether Hannah has returned to get back together with Dexter has yet to be revealed.
