It has and will forever remain one of humanity's most daunting questions: are we alone? Cults, movies and conspiracy theories have toyed with the idea for ages, and now a recent documentary shows proof that aliens may exist.

"Sirius" premiered on April 22 and features Steven Greer, a well-known UFO researcher who has dedicated his life to proving that the U.S. government is covering up evidence that alien life exists.

Throughout the film, Greer calls upon certain evidence to support his claims, the central subject being a six-inch alien body. The body is brown and yellow with an apparent head and lanky limbs. He claims that it was found in the desert several years ago, yet studies on the specimen have only just begun. The "alien" is the main focus of his documentary, which he uses as proof of the U.S. government's supposed cover-up.

"What people need to understand is the secrecy around UFOs and extraterrestrial intelligence really has nothing to do with ETs," Greer said in a video statement. "It has to do with humans and the power that is resting in large corporations and financial interests that do not want you to know the truth."

We've heard these claims before. The Roswell incident in 1947 intrigued skeptics who believed that the U.S. government covered up a potential UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico. U. S. Armed Forces claimed that it was nothing more than debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon, but the public wasn't convinced. Conspiracy theories have circulated ever since.

This time around however, the image of the tiny "alien" skeleton serves as a new form of hard evidence. Greer's documentary may offer new insight into the potential existence of extraterrestrial life, but it still fails to answer the timeless question. Nothing has been confirmed. The film sparks interest and may even convert skeptics, however the question remains. Are we alone?
