Failed vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin didn't find much humor in the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner Saturday night.

Although the former Alaska governor was not invited to the star-studded affair, that didn't stop her from watching the event and slamming the president and attendees afterwards.

"That #WHCD was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns throw themselves a #nerdprom," Palin tweeted after the event.

The conservative pundit also dedicated a Facebook post to criticizing the dinner:

"Yuk it up media and pols. While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke."

Despite Palin's harsh reaction to the dinner, the Washington Post reports that both Palin's daughter, Bristol, and her husband, Todd, have gone to the dinner in previous years.

During the dinner, President Obama cracked a number of memorable jokes about himself. He approached the podium to DJ Khaled's song "All I Do Is Win" and quipped about how re-election would allow him to unleash a radical agenda.

"I'm not the strapping young Muslim Socialist that I used to be," Obama remarked about his recent 2-for-22 basketball shooting performance at the White House Easter Egg hunt.

One of the biggest highlights was when he presented a montage of shots featuring him with bangs similar to those sometimes sported by the First Lady.

"So we borrowed one of Michelle's tricks," Obama said. "I thought this looked pretty good, but no bounce."

However, the POTUS closed his speech on a more series note, taking time to acknowledge the nation's recent tragedies in Massachusetts and Texas and praising Americans for joining together.
