J.J Abrams recently stated that he would be collaborating with George Lucas on the new "Star Wars Episode VII."

In an interview with Playboy the Star Trek director stated "We still have George Lucas with us to go to and ask questions and get his feedback on things, which I certainly will do." He added that he was developing the script and that they would try to continue the world fans loved. When asked about cutting out Jar Jar Binks, Abrams stated "You won't like this answer, but it's so early it would be insane to discuss details or get into plot points about what this unfilmed movie will be. And I'm not going to give my opinion on the original movies or characters."

J.J Abrams also said that the world of Star Trek and Star Wars would look different. He said "As with anything, because these are very different worlds, they shouldn't feel the same aesthetically. They can't. You're right. But again, I don't apply aesthetics first and fit a movie into that aesthetic. If I had come into Star Trek with those eyes, I would probably have been paralyzed."

The director was also asked the future of "Star Trek". They questioned whether he would return for the third installment now that he would be directing on "Star Wars". He stated "No. I would say it's a possibility. We're trying to figure out the next step. But it's like anything: It all begins with the story.

Abrams is currently promoting his new Star Trek film entitled "Star Trek: Into Darkness." The movie is set for release in May.

"Star Wars" is currently in the pre-production phase with Kathleen Kennedy as Producer and Michael Arndt as the writer. Casting has not started but rumor has it that Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill have been approached to reprise their role from the original trilogy.

Disney is set to unveil the finished product in 2015.
