A former Republican presidential intern has been accused of extortion and cyberstalking 15 women. FBI agents arrested the intern, identified as 21-year-old Adam Svador, at his Great Neck, Long Island home on Tuesday, the NY Daily News reported.

Savador, a political science student at SUNY Farmingdale, had previously interned for House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and as the "sole intern" of Republican vice presidential Paul Ryan. According to the NY Daily News, the 21-year-old was charged with illegally obtaining naked photos of 15 women and threatening to make them public unless they sent him more.

Prosecutors said that many of the women, who hailed from Michigan, Washington, D.C., and Long Island, were former high school classmates of the man. According to the criminal complaint, Savadar once threatened to send the naked photos of one of the women to the Republican National Committee if she didn't do as he asked.

The NY Daily News also reported that Savadar's text messages to his victims were "increasingly threatening and explicit." The complaint highlighted one text from October that read, "Do it from ur phone RIGHT NOW! I swear to God don't be stupid. U don't want ever1 including your parents seeing your t--s (and) a--."

Police said that Savader used Google voice numbers to anonymously message his victims from May 2012 through February 2013. According to the NY Daily News, the college student sent links to photo-sharing websites where he had already posted naked photos of his victims before requesting they send him more.

A victim, originally from Great Neck but living in Ann Arbor, Mich., alerted police of Savader’s alleged threats. According to the FBI, they were alerted by detectives from the Ann Arbor Police Department, who recieved the complaint from the victim allegeding that she had been threatened by someone who had illegal obtained naked photos of her.

The 21-year-old appeared in Long Island Federal Court and was held pending a bail hearing on Friday. However, he will be prosecuted in Michigan, police said. According to the NY Daily News, Savader faces up to five years in jail if convicted.

Savader’s lawyer, Michael Shoshnick, told reporters, “I’ve known Adam his entire life and he has never behaved in a way that would lead me to believe these allegations are true.” He added he will ask that Savader be released on bail so he can go to Michigan to face his charges.
