A rumor long expected for the Pokémon franchise was a new type, and a note might allude the sixth generation games will finally introduce it.

According to Hirobyte, who has been credited in revealing the Pokédex for "Pokémon Black and White" ahead of its Japanese release date, stated a new type will make its debut and it's not "Light."

Hirobyte stated the new type in question is "Fairy."

So far six Pokémon have been confirmed for the new game and two will reportedly have the Fairy type. The two in question are legendary Xerneas and latest Eevee evolution Sylveon.

As for fellow new legendary Pokémon Yveltal, it will be a dual Dark and Flying type, while classic Pokémon Clefairy and Togetic will change their types for Fairy.

The new type has not been formally confirmed for "Pokémon X and Y," which is set to debut in Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America in October.

The latest speculation does come after it was confirmed Mewtwo will return with a new form. The name of the new form has not been verified but it is not an evolution of the Genetic Pokémon.
