A battery test was conducted on dozens of smartphones and it appears Motorola's devices prove better than Apple, Nokia, and Samsung.
The Nokia Lumia 920, the flagship smartphone for the company, has 2,000mAh battery capacity. Nokia has put the talk time of the Windows Phone 8 smartphone at 10 hours when under a 3G network, however, GSMArena has calculated it to be under nine hours.
Despite the numbers, was it enough to beat Apple's iPhone 5 or Samsung's many gadgets?
According to the battery tests, the Lumia 920 placed 28 out of 66 smartphones. The Lumia 920's talk time went up to eight hours and 56 minutes, and failed to beat the Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X, Galaxy Note, and Galaxy Note 2, all of which ranged from 10 hours to 16 hours and 57 minutes.
The winner in the talk time tests was the Motorola RAZR MAXX with 21 hours and 18 minutes.
The Lumia 920 did defeat the iPhone 5, which clocked in at eight hours and 42 minutes of talk time.
As for web browsing, the iPhone 5 is victorious, just four minutes shy of 10 hours. The fifth-generation iPhone's numbers was enough to beat the Motorola RAZR MAXX's nine hours and 12 minutes and easily top the Lumia 920's five hours and 40 minutes.
"The Lumia 920 has a large, sharp display that's suitable for watching videos and it will last you around 6 hours and 20 minutes (in Airplane mode). That's comparable to the Lumia 820′s time and around average compared to other smartphones," noted GSMArena.
Motorola once again wins in video playback timing with the RAZR MAXX at 16 hours and 35 minutes. The DROID RAZR MAXX finished second at 14 hours and 17 seconds. The iPad mini by Apple rounded the top three at 12 hours and 51 seconds.
The iPhone 5 placed sixth, ahead of the Galaxy S3, with 10 hours and 12 minutes to 10 hours and a minute, respectively.
It appears Motorola has the advantage in longer battery life, yet, Apple and Samsung continue to dominate the market.
