Vice President Joe Biden has often been criticized for making off-handed and controversial remarks. However, his latest could start major controversy.

Biden told MSNBC that people no longer buy guns simply for protection. Instead they do so because it feels like "driving a Ferrari."

"It used to be we were dealing almost exclusively with hunters," Biden said."There's a whole new sort of group of individuals now who, I don't know what the numbers are, that never hunt at all but they own guns for one of two reasons: self protection or they just like the feel of that AR-15 at the range."

He then added the controversial line: "They like the way it feels. You know, it's like driving a Ferrari."

Gun control is a major issue in the nation with Congress in the midst of a debate on that very topic.

Biden also argued that the public attitude toward gun control was changing. Among the changes he brought up was the possibility of decreasing the size of clips.

"If there had only been ten bullets in each clip, [the shooter] would have had to change the clip an additional three to five times. One of those kids would be alive. Somebody would be alive," he said of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre last December. "What is the inconvenience? What are we doing? What are we doing to impact on a gun owners' right if he only has a clip with ten rounds in it instead of 30 rounds in it?"

Biden's "Ferrari" comment nature created a stir on Twitter with many people irate over the Vice President's attitude.
