The two weakest sides in the Western Conference face off when the Colorado Avalanche hosts the Calgary Flames on Monday evening.

Colorado sits in the Western Conference cellar with only 29 points and a record of two wins, seven regulations losses, and one overtime defeat in its last 10. The Flames sit just one point above them but have only scored four out of 20 points in their last 10 games with two wins and eight regulations losses.

The last time the Flames earned a victory, it was against Colorado. However, that was the final game before the trade of Captain Jarome Iginla; Iginla was scratched from that match. Since that trade, the Flames have lost five straight. In their latest game, the Vancouver Canucks destroyed the Flames 5-2.

"We played really hard I think the last two games and done a lot of good things," said forward Lee Stempniak. "But we make a few mistakes, and teams bury us, and all of a sudden we're chasing games and it's hard. You can't fault our effort or how competitive we are, but it's not enough at the end of the day."

After a 1-0 win against the Nashville Predators on March 30, the Avalanche have lost four straight, including a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday evening.

This is the fourth of four meetings between these two clubs; Colorado has won two of the first three.

Prediction: Calgary Wins 3-0.
