Ever since the election of J.J Abrams as the director of Star Wars, there has been criticism on how the director will manage with "Star Trek" and "Star Wars."

Recently in an interview with Empire Star Trek Into Darkness writer Richard Orci stated that Paramount and Disney may clash on how to promote their franchises. He stated "First I was happy for J.J., but I definitely felt a disturbance in the Force - which, incidentally, was first felt by Spock on the original series of Star Trek: when 400 Vulcans died he felt it across space, just like Ben Kenobi, but a decade ahead..."

He added "Anyway, we're all fans of Star Wars. Still, this is going to affect calendars and now it's two massive corporations having to vie for the right attention to each of these properties. But hopefully it will be fine.I don't know how much Paramount and other studios have to cooperate with each other. But I think everyone will explore every possibility fairly. And even if he goes completely Star Wars, we know now - he can't ever deny it - he is a big Star Trek fan!"

"Star Wars Episode VII" is currently in pre-production with Kathleen Kennedy producing. Casting has not been announced but Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill are slated to reprise their roles from the original trilogy. The news was announced when George Lucas told Bloomberg business that production was in negotiations with the actors.

Other actors who have expressed interest in the series include Ian McDiarmid who starred in the original series as Emperor Palpatine in the Star Wars, Diane Kruger, Kerri Russell, and Dwayne Johnson. Darth Maul voice actor Sam Witwer also stated that he would like to audition for the film.

"Star Wars Episode 7" will come out in 2015 and will be released by Disney.
