Samsung has rolled out Android version 4.1.2 for the original "phablet" of the Galaxy Note series.

The Galaxy Note update, part of the Jelly Bean brand, features the new Nature UX Interface, ditching the previous UI (user interface). The update essentially gives Galaxy Note owners many features seen in the current Galaxy Note 2 device.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Note update provides the following:

- Android 4.1.2 - Build JZO54K,

- Buttery Smooth Performance & Great Stability
,

- Multi-View (Multi Windows Multitasking, same as in Note II),

- Multi-View can also be disabled
- Page Buddy,

- Notification Panel can now be customized,

- New Additions in Notification Panel,

- Smart Rotation,

- Continues Input in Samsung Keyboard,

- Samsung's Cloud services,

- Direct Call, Smart Stay, and Pop-up Play,

- New Widgets From the Galaxy S III
- 2 Home screen modes
,

- New Notifications bar,

- Google Now.

There is a catch with the Galaxy Note update. At the moment, the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is only rolled out in Korea for model SHV-E160S.

The Galaxy Note was first announced in September 2011, and featured the Android mobile operating system version 2.3.5, also known as the Gingerbread.

The original Galaxy Note features a 5.3-inch screen with 1,280x800 pixels. The display's pixels per inch stands at 285. The phablet is offered in 16GB and 32GB internal storage models with 1GB of RAM in black, pink, and white color options. The Galaxy Note, while offering NFC, does connect to Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, and has Bluetooth version 3.0. A rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with 3,264x2,448 is featured. The device has 2,500mAh battery capacity, offering up to 820 hours on standby when under a 3G network.
