Lolo Jones secured a spot on the US Olympic Team Saturday night after the Olympic trials.

The berth was clinched after Jones finished third in the women's 100-meter hurdles final in 12.86 seconds. The winner of the trials was Dawn Harper, who won gold in 2008.

Despite not winning the trial, Jones was the highlight of the competition. Jones' celebrity skyrocketed after she made a public announcement stating that maintaining her virginity was more difficult that competing for the Olympics.

"I want to wait until I'm married to have sex," Jones said. "I just want to have that solemn bond. It's a gift I want to give to my husband," she continued.

She became an overnight Twitter Sensation with her number of Twitter followers skyrocketing from 52,000 to over 125,000 after her announcement. Rumors also spread about her being the ideal match for another virgin celebrity: New York Jets Quarterback Tim Tebow. Jones denied rumors of a relationship with Tebow. Like Tebow, Jones cited her ardent Christianity as the main reason for her celibacy.

Regardless of her performance, Jones is due to have the spotlight throughout the Olympics in June. She will also likely attract sponsors, advertisers, and fans.

Jones has won gold medals in the 60 meter hurdles at the World Indoor Championships of 2008 in Valencia and 2010 in Doha. There have been no official announcements of the Olympian being in a relationship.
