Apple has released the latest iOS 6 update.

The update, iOS 6.1.3, includes two improvements. The first is an improvement for Apple Maps in Japan but the second fix revolves around a more pressing security concern.

The other update fixes a bug that previously allowed users to bypass the passcode and access apps within the device. The lock screen and passcode bypass issue has been a reoccurring issue since iOS 6 made its debut late last year.

While it is recommended for Apple device owners to download the latest iOS 6 update, a note of caution should be said for jailbreakers.

As Latinos Post reported in late February, when iOS 6.1.3 was in its second round of beta testing and available to developers, speculation rose about how the update could mark the end of jailbreaking Apple devices.

Evasi0n's David Wang, responsible in providing jailbreaks, told Forbes that the iOS 6.1.3 update might signal the end in evasi0n's hacking. He added he was still testing the patch if other vulnerabilities created by the jailbreak still function post-update.

"If one of the vulnerabilities doesn't work, evasi0n doesn't work," Wang said. "We could replace that part with a different vulnerability, but [Apple] will probably fix most if not all of the bugs we've used when 6.1.3 comes out."

Wang correctly predicted the approximate iOS 6.1.3 release date, but it remains to be seen if it marks the end to jailbreaking.

Update 6.1.3 did arrive fairly quickly as iOS 6.1.2 was released on Feb. 19 with the aim to fix a bug on Exchange and reduced battery life complaints.

The iOS 6.1.3 update is downloadable for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, and the fourth and fifth generations of the iPod Touch.
