Gearbox officially confirmed that the newest set of DLC for Borderlands 2 will include a new character class and level cap, with additional information being revealed at PAX East.

Gearbox has released the video it was showing to those in attendance at SXSW, showing the new character hitting enemies so hard they fly apart. In addition to the original video, an addition at the end states that the subject is on route to PAX East, to be officially revealed Sunday March 24 at 12:30 p.m. Gearbox will also discuss the long-awaited level cap increase to the game.

This new, still-unnamed character class will be the sixth character class available for Borderlands 2. The character appears to play much like Brick did in the first Borderlands. The subject is seen using only melee attacks, and does not appear with any other sort of weapon in hand.

This will be the fourth set of DLC for Borderlands 2. Captain Scarlett and Her Captain's Booty, Mr Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, and Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt were all the story-based DLCs released before this pack, which are all part of the game's Season Pass. There was also a separate download for the game's fifth character class, the Mecromancer.

Gearbox has fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of the sixth (and final?) character that will be playable for Borderlands 2. Hopefully the developer will not be keeping gamers long after PAX East to play as the new character, or level up their old characters beyond the current level cap of 50. We will just have to wait and see what Gearbox has got for us when they show off what new mayhem they will be unleashing on Pandora when this unnamed DLC comes out.
