There's been a lot of hype surrounding the upcoming fourth season of "Arrested Development." Cast and crew members have provided fans with insider details about the inner workings of the show and who's coming back. The upcoming season will feature the full original cast and a slew of guest stars including Seth Rogen and Kristen Wiig. Now fans are delighted to hear that one of the show's quirkiest, most delusion reoccurring side characters will be making an appearance in the new season.

It's the world's most unreliable private eye, Gene Parmesan. In a recent interview with Vulture, Jessica Walter, who plays the alcoholic conniving mother Lucille Bluth, confirmed that the 'master of disguise' would be returning to the limelight.

"First of all, Martin Mull, who plays Gene, is so adorable," Walter said. "I did like getting to smile and scream. You know, there's something very little-girly about Lucille. I don't see her as any kind of villain. She gets excited about these surprises of his because I believe that's how she'd react!"

In the show, Lucille repeatedly hires Gene to look into mundane personal matters. Throughout his investigations, he has a knack for popping up at random times in full costume, surprising Lucille (but no one else) upon revealing himself. For example, in one particular episode, after an unrelated fire at the Bluth office, Gene appears decked out in a full fireman suit. It's borderline ludicrous.

Lucille's reaction is always the same. She jumps and waves her hand excitedly, screaming with a wide grin on her face. "Gene comes back," she said. "He's in our new season. He fools me again! I couldn't wait to film that episode, truly."

Gene won't be the only one surprising fans in May. The new season promises to include new twists and absurd situations that will make you get up and scream with joy.
