The Chicago Blackhawks will look to extend their historic start to the season when they take on the Minnesota Wild.

That Blackhawks have not lost in regulation during their first 22 games of the season. Their match against the Wild also represents the first time the Hawks face the team that handed them their first shootout defeat of the year.  Chicago has lost its three games in the shootout.

Chicago is coming off an emotional 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings in the shootout. A late Patrick Kane tally ensured that Chicago would extend its record to 22 games.

The Wild recognize that they have a major chance at making history by ending the Blackhawks' run, but also know that the task will be tantamount.

"You love that challenge," Wild coach Mike Yeo said during an interview with NHL.com. "Any competitor, any athlete loves that challenge. This is a pretty great one. They've got it all going right now. We recognize what kind of challenge this is going to be. The great competitors love that opportunity."

He added, "What they're doing is nothing short of amazing, but the fact that we beat them a month ago, I don't think means whole lot... This is a new challenge completely."

Minnesota is coming off a 4-2 win against the Oilers and is in a six-way tie for fifth in the west with 24 points.

Prediction: Minnesota wins 3-1 in regulation.
