The new Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone will be available in six variants -- combinations of color and storage capacity, according to rumors from SamMobile.

"The new Galaxy S IV comes in 2 colors in the first place, White and black. Samsung wants to sell the Galaxy S IV in 6 variants.

GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 16 GB (White)
GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 32 GB (White)
GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 64 GB (White)
GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 16 GB (Black)
GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 32 GB (Black)
GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 64 GB (Black)"

The "big choice" here is really color. Just like the Galaxy S III, which came in white and blue, the S IV doesn't offer a ton of options, and Samsung seems to be shying away from the (edgy?) pebble blue of yore.

The Galaxy S IV should definitely have an SD card slot, offering additional storage up to 64 GB, so there's not much reason to buy the 32 or 64 GB versions unless you really need the extra space, especially if you already have an SD card in your old phone that you can just pop in.

The final, verified specs for the Galaxy S IV won't be official until the launch event in Times Square at 7:00 p.m. on Mar. 14.

Samsung seems to be sparing no expense to garner as much publicity as possible for the launch of its flagship phone. The company surely has high hopes for the S IV, since its predecessor the S III became the first phone to ever outsell the iPhone.

Samsung is hoping to repeat that performance, but with Apple's next iteration of he iPhone still under wraps, the Korean company wants to grab as many sales as possible before any big Apple announcements, potentially locking customers into two-year contracts that prevent them from upgrading cheaply to any new iPhone.
