What a way to celebrate!
Academy Award winner Ben Affleck decided to celebrate his second Oscar honor by shaving off his beard just hours after the he received his award. On Sunday, the 40-year-old actor and director won the Oscar for Best Picture for his film "Argo" which was presented by First Lady Michelle Obama. Afterward, Affleck attended a late-night Oscars after party at Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood where he got rid of his scruffy beard, reports US Weekly. His wife, actress Jennifer Garner, fellow "Argo" producer George Clooney, and other colleagues were all present to witness Affleck shave off his facial hair, himself.
However, sources say that Garner brought the clippers as she and her family were dying for him to cut his beard.
"He did it himself at the restaurant," while friends were egging him on, an insider told Us. Reportedly Affleck grew out the scruff as his lucky charm for awards season. "The whole family was tired of the beard!" the source adds of his wife and their three children: Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Sam, 1, in addition to other relatives. His wife of six-plus years "actually brought the clippers to the party."
Earlier that evening, Affleck joked with Garner, Clooney, and actress Stacy Keibler saying, "You don't want me to cut it off!"
During the "Argo" bash, sources say things got "rowdy" while Clooney, Affleck and other revelers took shots of Casamigos tequila, Clooney and pal Rande Gerber's brand.
"Ben and Jen were there for a long time -- that's where he could really celebrated with the whole Argo crew," an insider added. "Ben was over the moon about the win and so happy."
