This past Monday the Mexican Actor Gael Garcia Bernal premiered a production of his own doing on YouTube.

"Drifting: Part 2" is an online short film, directed by the actor, about three friends stranded in the middle of the ocean with only one life preserver to share. As they work through their issues and try to reconnect after having drifted apart an unexpected rescue makes it all clear for the three of them.

Bernal's production is the conclusion to what was started by his long-time friend and business partner Diego Luna, "Drifting: Part 1," about two friends who with a prank try to convince their third friend to attend a wedding.

"It will be really interesting to see how the two films interact and work together because Diego and I have very different approaches to everything," said Bernal in a press release. "Luckily we work really well together and bring out each other's potential. That is one of the great things about our friendship and something we understand about each other. I don't just respect his point of view, I like it! He always has something different to say and I like to hear that from him. I think that's what makes this project exciting and different."

Both parts were filmed in Mexico and produced in collaboration with, Chivas Regal, company that specializes in whisky, and Canana, production house started by Luna, Bernal and partner Pablo Cruz back in 2005.

As a part of the collaboration and as a celebration of friendship Chivas is hosting the We Go Way Back photo competition. The winners will be two friends who will get to on an all-expenses-paid trip to the Cannes film festival and will catch a special screening of "Drifting."
