On Sunday all of the music industry's hottest stars seemed to be celebrating music's biggest night at the 55th Grammy Awards in LA--that is all, but a few key players.

It's worth noting that a number of chart topping hit makers did not attend the Grammys this year and their presence was definitely missed. This includes teen heartthrob Justin Bieber who was snubbed at this year's awards with no nominations. On Grammy night, he posted a live stream video of himself sharing new music with his fans while he was on vacation with his family.

This year Kanye West and his pregnant girlfriend Kim Kardashian also decided to ditch the media glitz at the Grammy Awards in exchange for an exotic vacation in Brazil. The parents-to-be were spotted strolling through Vidigal, Brazil on their trip to Carnival on Sunday.

On Monday, the 32-year-old socialite congratulated her all-star rapper boyfriend on winning three Grammys for best rap performance, best rap/sung collaboration and best rap song for his work with Jay-Z and Frank Ocean on the song "No Church In The Wild." "Awww just waking up In Brazil, seeing Kanye won 3 Grammy's last night!!! That makes a total of 21!!!! That's just so insane! Soooo proud!!!" tweeted the reality star.

Lady Gaga, the pop icon that arrived to the Grammys in a giant egg in 2011, also didn't appear at the elite award show. Instead, she's overseas on her worldwide "Born This Way" tour.

Lastly, female emcee Nicki Minaj closed out last year's show with a melodramatic performance that critics say mocked the Catholic church and may have even set Grammy board officials at unease. She also showed up on the red carpet with a a bishop or cardinal look-a-like that caused controversy with religious leaders. However, this year the Queen Barb was nowhere in sight nor was she nominated for any awards. She explained that for the most part she was unphrased by the snub and is confident that "when it's my time to get a Grammy, I'll get a Grammy."

"I understand that artists and critics make a big deal over the Grammys. But when I go to my shows and I'm selling out arenas in London, and when I'm in Australia and Japan, there aren't any Grammys there," she said. "There are human beings who I've touched. There are human beings who are inspired by me, who I love dearly. And that's what my career is based on," she added.
