The 55th Grammy Awards, hosted by LL Cool J, take the stage today in Los Angeles, bringing together music's biggest performers and presenters. The awards ceremony will begin at 8 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on CBS.

Some awards have already been handed out in the categories of classical, Latin, jazz and bluegrass. Some winners include the Metropolitan Opera, Colombian singer Juanes, Renee Fleming, Michael Tilson Thomas, Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Taylor Swift, Esperanza Spalding and Rihanna.

Music's biggest night will include presenters Beyonce, Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepson, Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw. Justin Timberlake will make his first major musical performance since returning from acting. Other performers will include The Black Keys, Jack White, Kelly Clarkson, Juanes, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Miranda Lambert and a joint performance by Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Sting.

11:15 PM: Grammy award winner Adele takes the stage to present the Album of the Year.

11:09 PM: Grammy winner, Colombian singer Juanes takes the stage performing one of Elton John's songs, "Your Song," with a bit of a Latino twist. Juanes won the Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. He also presented Frank Ocean's premiere Grammy performance. 

10:59 PM: Elton John, Mumford & Sons, Brittany Howard, Mavis Staples and the Zac Brown Band honor the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting and others lost this year.

10:55 PM: Several artists including, Dave Brubeck, Donna Summer, Robin Gibb, Davy Jones, Dick Clark, Jenni Rivera and Ravi Shankar are remembered in a special "In Memorandum." 

10:49 PM: Ryan Secrest and Grammy Foundation President Neil Portnow are joined on stage by Justin Timberlake to talk about the Grammy Foundation. 

10:43 PM: Elton John and Justin Timberlake return soon. Performance by Colombian singer Juanes still to come!

10:42 PM: The Record of the Year Grammy goes to Gotye. 

10:39 PM: Seven-time Grammy winner Prince presents the next award for Record of the Year.

10:37 PM: Carrie Underwood's dress isn't just big, it's a projection screen too! The country singer has become a projection screen filled with bursts of color. 

10:34 PM: Hunter Hayes, a three-time Grammy nominee, takes the stage. He's joined by six-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood, who's wearing a stunning silver ballgown on stage. 

10:30 PM: More performers and presenters to come, including Adele, Hunter Hayes, Carrie Underwood and others!

10:27 PM: The Best New Artist Grammy goes to Fun. 

10:26 PM: Katy Perry takes the stage in a stunning green dress to present the award for the Best New Artist.

10:18 PM: The Lumineers take the stage with their folksy pop song "Ho Hey." The band is nominated for two awards tonight. They're followed by a performance by Jack White. 

10:16 PM: The Lumineers will perform their hit "Ho Hey" soon! What has been your favorite performance so far?

10:10 PM: Bruno Mars and Sting are joined on stage by Ziggy Marley and Rihanna in an energetic performance of Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved," that has everyone dancing. 

10:06 PM: Mars performs his hit song, "Locked Out of Heaven," is joined by Sting. Sting is now performing The Police's "Walking on the Moon," inspired by Marley. 

10:03 PM: Bruno Mars is set to take the stage in a performance honoring Bob Marley. He'll be joined by Rihanna and Sting.

9:58 PM: The Best Country Album goes to the Zac Brown Band for "Uncaged." Still more performances to come!

9:57 PM: Two time Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson performs in honor of two musical greats. She's also presenting Best Country Album. 

9:49 PM: 2 Broke Girls' Kat Dennings presents next performers, The Black Keys, who won earlier tonight. 

9:42 PM: The Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammy goes to Jay-Z, Kanye, Frank Ocean and The Dream for "No Church In The Wild."

9:40 PM: Carly Rae Jepson and NeYo present the next award- Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. 

9:36 PM: Rihanna takes the stage in an all black dress and somber lighting. 

9:35 PM: Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars and Sting will perform in a bit. 

9:29 PM: The Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy goes to Kelly Clarkson for "Stronger."

9:27 PM: Keith Urban and the Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco present the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. 

9:24 PM: Alicia Keys rocking out on some drums to her hit "Girl On Fire," along with Maroon 5's Adam Levine.

9:22 PM: Alicia Keys and Maroon 5 take the stage with "Daylight" and "Girl On Fire."

9:21 PM: The Best Rock Performance Grammy goes to The Black Keys for "Lonely Boy."

9:19 PM: Dave Grohl and NCIS' Pauly Perrette presents Best Rock Performance.

9:13 PM: The Best Urban Contempory Album Grammy goes to Frank Ocean for "Channel Orange."

9:12 PM: Kelly Rowland and Nas present the Best Urban Contempory Album. 

9:06 PM: Timberlake is joined by Beyoncé's hubby Jay-Z. 

9:04 PM: Every 90s kid dream come true! Timberlake makes his return to music with "Suit & Tie" and has the Grammys go old school with a performance broadcast in sepia tones!

9:03 PM: Ellen is joined by Grammy winner Beyoncé to present Justin Timberlake. And we've got a bit of a fumble on Beyoncé's part during her presentation, but she returned gracefully, as only she could. 

8:58 PM: Ellen Degeneres is set to present Justin Timberlake's comeback performance. Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys will also perform. 

8:53 PM: Johnny Depp presents the next performers, Mumford & Sons. The British band is nominated for seven awards and have already taken home: Best Long Form Music Video for "Big Easy Express."

8:50 PM: The Song of the Year Grammy goes to Fun. for "We Are Young." Lead singer Nate Ruess thanks their fans. 

8:45 PM: Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will present the next award of the night- Song of the Year. 

8:42 PM: The Best Country Solor Performance Grammy goes to Carrie Underwood for "Blown Away." Underwood thanks "the good Lord," Sony and her "perfect" husband. 

8:42 PM: Miguel and Wiz Khalifa present the Grammy for Best Country Solo Performance. 

8:39 PM: Grammy winner Miguel and nominee Wiz Khalifa take the stage. 

8:35 PM: Miranda Lambert is nominated for one Grammy tonight-Best Country Album for her "Four The Record," while Dierks Bently is nominated for Best Country Solo Performance.

8:31 PM: Bonnie Raitt, who won her 10th Grammy tonight, and John Mayer present the next performance: Country singers Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley. 

8:29 PM: Fun. gave an energetic performance, which included some rain! But this is just the beginning. Other performers include: Juanes, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys and a joint performance by Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Sting. 

8:22 PM: Neil Patrick Harris presents the next performers, Fun., who are nominated for six awards tonight. 

8:20 PM: The Best Pop Solo Performance Grammy goes to Adele with "Set Fire To The Rain."

8:18 PM: The #Grammys are back. Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull are back to present the first award of the night- Best Pop Solo Performance. Jennifer Lopez makes a joke about CBS' dress code memo. 

8:14 PM: Grammy Fact: 45 awards have already been presented this year in several categories, including Folk, Country, Bluegrass and Latin. Many awards are still to come!

8:13 PM: Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull to present the first award and Fun. will take the stage after the commercial break. 

8:10 PM: Britain's Ed Sheeran takes the stage with Elton John to perform his hit "The A Team." Sheeran is nominated for his first Grammy for Song of the Year.

8:09 PM: A Grammy is "a dream come true," says LL Cool J.

8:05 PM: Host LL Cool J takes the stage to talk about last year's loss of Whitney Houston and why he's so excited to host the Grammys for the second year in a row. 

8:00 PM: Taylor Swift kicks off the 55th Grammy Awards with a performance of her hit single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."
