Jennifer Lawrence arrived in London for the British Academy Awards but may have started drawing attention for the wrong reasons after the arrival.
The actress arrived at the Little House Mayfair on Friday for a Pre-BAFTAs charity dinner when she tripped on the curb and lost a shoe, as reported by E! Online. She was quickly helped by security and continued into the restaurant for the dinner.
Lawrence and her "Silver Linings Playbook", "Serena" co-star Bradley Cooper were the guests of honor for the event hosted by Stephen Fry and Harvey Weinstein. All the proceeds and profits of the dinner were intended to benefit a mental-health organization. Actress Thandie Newton was also present at the event.
Jennifer Lawrence arrived earlier Friday at the Heathrow airport where she tried to avoid attention by wearing sunglasses, a purple hat, and a black jacket.
Lawrence is up for a BAFTA for Best Lead Actress. She will compete against Oscar nominees Emmanuelle Riva (Amour), and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty). Helen Mirren (Hitchcock) and Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone) are also up for the award.
Lawrence recently won the SAG award, Critics Choice award, and Golden Globe and is currently the front-runner to win the Academy Award. "Silver Linings Playbook" is up for three BAFTA awards but is not expected to win any award.
The BAFTA Awards will be held on Sunday Feb. 10 at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
