February 14, the day to pamper and cater to your special someone, is just around the corner. But don't worry if you pockets don't exactly match up to the size of your heart this year. Instead of trying to prove that your Valentine is literally worth more than the world, itself, you can show your love and appreciation for your honey with a creative night (or day) that doesn't break the bank.

Here are 10 affordable and unique ways to give your Valentine's sweetie a memorable holiday throughout New York City.

1. Skating Under The Stars

What's a better way to start a steamy night of romance than by ice skating under the stars at Manhattan's Bryant Park. Think about it, you'll spend an hour on the ice and then the rest of the night in each other's arms trying to warm up. Plus, Bryant Park's Citi Pond is a state-of-the-art, 170' x 100' rink wit free admission. Ice skate rentals are $14 and you can also take lessons.

For an added bonus, go somewhere for a glass of hot chocolate afterward or make sure you have some at home along with a snuggie.

2. Nature, Art And Beauty

Just in case you would rather remain indoors with your sweetie, then you can enjoy an artistic twist on the beauty of nature at the Museum of Modern Art's (MOMA) new installation of Wolfgang Laib's Pollen from Hazelnut (11 W 53rd St between Fifth and Sixth Aves). An entire atrium is coated in a luminous layer of yellow pollen which gives the room a warm glow and a sexy feel.

3.      Sex And Art
Just in case pollen and nature isn't your idea of romance, then you can take a stroll through the "Rubbers" exhibition at the Museum of Sex (233 Fifth Ave at 27th St;,) for just $14.95 a ticket. This will give you both the chance to become educate and excited about sex.

4. Dining On A Budget

If you and your darling would rather opt for a more traditional Valentine's date without the added expenses, then make reservations to your favorite eatery during lunch time. The menu will be cheaper and you'll avoid the crowds at night. You can even top it off a Matinee movie.

5.      Eat In, Spend The Night Out

Instead of spending an arm-and-a-leg on both an evening dinner and a special event, you can wine and dine your sweetheart at home before going to a concert or getting drinks. Spend time cooking up a recipe that you're confident in preparing and spice up the ambiance with romantic music and decorations around the dinner table. You'll save money on food and have more to splurge on entertainment.

6.      Veggie Thai Date

Before enjoying a delicious box of chocolates, start the night off with some healthy dishes at the veggie eatery Pukk (71 First Ave between 4th and 5th Sts). We recommend that you try the faux-chicken green curry with ersatz duck drenched in spicy basil sauce and two bottles of Singha. All together this meal should cost you around 20 bucks.

7. Leisurely lunch and Walk Through Central Park
Try Jean-Georges's Nougatine (Trump International Hotel & Tower, 1 Central Park West at Columbus Circle; jean-georges.com) which is a perfect three-course lunch for only $28. Later on, prepare for romantic walk through Central Park with a downloadable self-guided tour (centralparknyc.org).

8. A Sexy Burlesque Show

Have some fun with your partner at a 1950s, pinup-inspired burlesque show at Nurse Bettie on the Lower East Side. This show is produced by "Asian sexsation" Calamity Chang and usually includes six to seven acts as well as go-go dancers.

9. Yoga For Two

Try something new like signing up for a couples Yoga class at Foods of Love at Integral Yoga Institute.

10. Hugh Margaritas

And lastly, if all else fails, over-sized margaritas can come in handy at Dallas BBQ. The fishbowl-style "Texas Size" margaritas are less than $10 and you can add a shot of liquor for $1 more.
