Nokia is banking with their Lumia 920 smartphone series and have officially compared its durability against one of Samsung's top mobile phones.

Samsung's Galaxy S3 has gone head-to-head with Apple's iPhone 5 in most comparisons, but Nokia took it to their own hands to show viewers which smartphone has the true advantage.

Nokia conducted a "Pitching Machine Challenge" to see which smartphone can withstand a fastball.

The first victim of the fastball is the Galaxy S3, which resulted in its back case falling off and the screen shattering. The impact led to the Galaxy S3 not responding to touches.

The Lumia 920 was next and somehow the fastball misses the Nokia device twice. Third time was the charm.

The Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the operating system for the Lumia 920, lived.

The Lumia 920 was recording at the time of impact and was still functioning when the ball made the hit. The screen was of smartphone did not crack.

The reviews of the video has so far been comedic:

nardadarna1: "The Legacy of the indestructible Nokia 3310 still lives in Lumia 920!"

Andegilma: "Hey were nokia and we make phones for dumbasses when they goto baseball practice they wont break it intentionally!"

EwingMCSE: "I own a Lumia 920 and it's an amazing phone. The camera in low-light situations like bars, clubs, even the house at night just blow Android/iPhone out of the water. The app environment isn't as good, but it's extremely rare that I run into something I want that isn't available. Where iPhone clearly wins is the hardware accessory ecosystem."

Bas a: "Dropped my Lumia on the street a good few times, apart from a few minor scratches on the housing it seems pretty much invulnerable."

Dwayne Huibrechtse: "What awaste of time. Why in God's name would I allow such force to hit any electronics I own. Idiots."

The Lumia 920 has a screen size of 4.5-inches with 1,280x768 pixel resolution, 32GB of internal storage with 1GB of RAM, eight-megapixel rear-facing camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels with LED flash, and 2,000 mAh battery capacity.
