British director Duncan Jones is in talks to direct the film adaptation of the role playing video game "World of Warcraft."

The film will be set in a universe in which goblins, trolls, elves and humans exist alongside zombies, werewolves and even aliens. The film will be produced by Thomas Tull, Jon Jashui of Legendary Pictures and Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment.

"World of Warcrafts" has been in the works for many years with Sam Raimi (Spider-Man and Evil Dead) originally on board to helm the film in 2009. However he left due to his latest film "Oz: the Great and Powerful."

"Warcraft" will be Jones' biggest film to date. He made his directional debut in 2009 with the acclaimed Indie science fiction film "Moon" starring Sam Rockwell. "Moon" was reported to have cost $1 million. He then directed the $35 million time travel- action film "Source Code" starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Both films received positive reviews with "Moon" receiving a BAFTA Award.

The film has been scripted by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond) and is being produced for $100 million budget. Legendary Pictures is eyeing to start production in the fall of 2013 to reach a potential 2015 release date.
