A manhunt is underway for 70-year-old Arthur Douglas Harmon, who is suspected of fatally shooting a man and injuring two others in a Phoenix office building on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Sgt. Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department told reporters that Harmon fired on his victims after meeting with other people on some pending litigation, the Los Angeles Times reported. Martos told the LA Times, "Apparently it was not the outcome he expected and so on his way out this is what happened."

According to police, Harmon walked into the office building around 10:30 a.m., shot three people before fleeing the seen.

Although initial police reports stated that at least five people were shot, it was later confirmed that only three had been struck. According to the LA Times, Harmon is suspected of shooting and killing Steve Singer, 48. The shooter also struck a 43-year-old man who is in critical condition and a 32-year-old woman, Sgt. Tommy Thompson told reporters.

Thompson also told reporters that the shooting was not a random incident and that Singer and the 43-year-old man were intended targets. It is believed that the woman may have been an unintended victim.

Police continue to search for Harmon, who is said to have left the office building in a 2013 white Kia Optima, license plate AVS2052, which was rented. According to CBS News, police have interviewed Harmon's adult son and are attempting to locate his wife.

The Department of Public Safety described Harmon as a 6' tall, white male who is about 220 pounds and was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. The department said he is possibly carrying two weapons, including a stainless steel handgun.
