In the season four finale of NBC's dramedy 'Parenthood' the Bravermans were met with several heartwarming moments. Following the finale, showrunner Jason Katims spoke to the Hollywood Reporter on his hopes for NBC to pick up a fifth season and what the future could hold for the Braverman clan.

The season finale, entitled "Because You're My Sister," Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) make the adoption of their son Victor (Xolo Mariduena) official in a great ceremony involving the whole Braverman family. Despite some difficulties Julia has had with Victor in the past, the two really come together in this episode. Victor finally appears to be in sync with his new family.

During a moment of jealousy, Julia and Joel's youngest daughter Sydney (Savannah Paige Rae) tells her parents and Victor that she isn't going to go to his adoption ceremony because she doesn't think he should be adopted. Later, in a moment of brotherly love, Victor asks Sydney to go to his ceremony. When asked why she should go, he simply says, "Because you're my sister."

The Graham's weren't the only ones feeling the love. Older Braverman brother Crosby (Dax Shepard) and his wife Jasmine (Joy Bryant) celebrated their first anniversary together as a married couple. However, the argument Crosby had with Jasmine's mother Renee (guest star Tina Lifford) hangs over their head during their anniversary celebration. While telling Crosby that she wants him to make things right with her mom, Jasmine lets it slip that she's pregnant with their second child. The couple then head over to make amends with Renee and share the happy news.

Not be left behind in the good news train, oldest brother Adam (Peter Krause) and wife Kristina (Monica Potter) receive the best news yet-she's cancer free. It's been a long journey for the two and although Kristina will remain on watch for the next five years, she is finally able to resume their life. As a present, Adam impulsively buys a trip for the two to Hawaii and after receiving the good news, the two depart for the much needed vacation.

Oldest sister Sarah was hit by both good and bad news. Son Drew (Miles Heizer) received his acceptance letter from his top choice college. Meanwhile, former fiancé Mark (guest star Jason Ritter) declares his love for Sarah. Ultimately Sarah decides to be with her new boyfriend Hank (Ray Romano), who later springs on her that he is moving to Minnesota to be with his daughter. Sarah's daughter Amber (Mae Whitman) also has her own happy ending, when she gets back with her former boyfriend Ryan (Matt Lauria).

Although the episode is being billed as the season finale and not the series finale, there is still the chance that the show will not be picked up for a fifth season. Showrunner Jason Katims spoke to the Hollywood Reporter and said that he wasn't thinking of the episode as the end of 'Parenthood.' In fact, he already has some ideas for the new season including Drew's first year in college and Amber's relationship with Ryan.

Of the upcoming decision from NBC, Katims said, "We always wonder, 'Maybe this year they'll picks us up early.' But that's up to them! That said, I think one of the things that's so powerful about the show being around four seasons has been the support and passion the fans have. I've seen on several shows how powerful that is, and it does affect the network's decisions about shows. I feel like not only are Parenthood fans passionate, but that passion has grown over the run of the show and people got more invested as the show has gone on. That really does help keep shows on the air."
