Actress Sandra Echeverria has revealed that she rejected the female lead in the new telenovela "La Tempestad" starring William Levy.

The "Savages" star told the show "Hoy" that she has "no time for soap operas because she is working in film." The actress added that "a soap opera takes months to film and she would have to dedicate all her time to it." Echeverria said that "she was working on many projects in both television and film and she would have loved to work alongside William Levy."

The 28-year old actress Ecehverria is gearing up for a new film in which she will star alongside Tom Hanks' son Colin Hanks. The film will be shot in Dallas, Texas. Echeverria last starred in "Savages" alongside Salma Hayek, Benicio del Toro and John Travolta. She also starred in "Casa de Mi Padre" alongside Will Ferrell, Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna. Her last telenovela "Relaciones Peligrosas" aired in 2012. 

"La Tempestad" is currently seeking a female lead. Recent rumors revealed that Televisa is considering Angelique Boyer and Thalia. However William Levy recently revealed that fans want to see his current girlfriend Elizabeth Gutierrez act alongside him. The actor stated that "he does not know if it will be possible for this series but that he will try to satisfy his fans eventually."
